Each session includes 40 minutes of Hockey Treadmill and 20 minutes with the RapidShot Shooting Cage.

Our Hockey Skating Treadmill is the ultimate training machine for improving skating stride, speed, and technique. The RapidShot Shooting Cage helps players develop shot speed, strength and accuracy.

SKATE SHARPENING: Specialized Skills/Treadmill sessions  include free skate sharpening on the standard EZ Sharp machine following your training session. Take participant’s skates  to the front desk after your lesson (must arrange on day of lesson) for  your included sharpening. Skates will be sharpened in the order that they are received and/or may need to be left overnight, based on staff availability.

About Coach Bethany Trona-Farler: Coach Bethany Trona-Farler is the Assistant Coach of the Warcats Varsity team and the backup Head coach of the Learn to Play Program ages 5 through adults. After serving in active-duty Air Force service for 10 years as the head fitness program manager and intelligence specialist, Bethany returned to playing adult hockey in Columbus and was asked to lead some of the Blue Jackets Hockey School at the OhioHealth Chiller. Coach Bethany spent 14 years coaching competitive Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit and holds a Level 3 Coaching Certification from USA Hockey. Bethany resides in New Albany and spends all of her free time with her two dogs and honing her own hockey skills doing private lessons. Coach Bethany enjoys developing player skating skills, as she competitively competed in Figure Skating as a child. Bethany prefers to work with younger kids (14U) in the developmental stage ages.  Email Coach Bethany >

About Coach Morgan Rumpke: Coach Morgan played youth hockey in Columbus for 11 years. After her last season of competitive hockey, she was given the opportunity to start coaching and very quickly fell in love with the coaching aspect of the sport. Coach Morgan has spent the past year coaching the Learn to Play Program, ages 5 through adult and CYDA EDP U10s. After graduating high school at Gahanna Lincoln, she attended Columbus State Community College to achieve an associate degree and is currently enrolled at Ohio State University with a goal of a bachelor’s degree in communication. Email Bethany to book with Coach Morgan >

About Coach Herman Jones: Coach Herman Jones is a product of The Chiller adult hockey program. He started skating and taking classes in 1998 at 30 years old and fell in love with the game. He soon started helping with youth classes and playing adult league multiple nights per week. Herman has worked with thousands of skaters over the past 20+ years, and multiple generations of hockey families as a lead instructor with The Chiller and NHL learn to play programs. Herman holds a Level 4 Coaching Certification from USA Hockey and specializes in skating instruction. He can help any age or skill level skater but excels with young skaters and adults starting later in life. Herman is available for individual and group lessons and also runs a weekly adult Learn To Play class. When not at the rink Herman spends time on his farm or in his workshop building stuff with his wife Sherry and their dogs Champ and Gromit. Email Bethany to book with Coach Herman >

About Coach Joe Gray: Coach Joe Gray combines 20+ years of high-level playing experience with a proven record of success, holding scoring records at both the high school and collegiate levels. Having competed in AAA, high school, and college hockey, he understands what it takes to excel at every stage of the game. Joe tailors his approach to each player, focusing on developing technical skills, hockey IQ, and the grit required to succeed. About Coach Nick Heufelder: Coach Nick Heufelder has been employed by the Chiller for 5 years. In addition to his role as a primary instructor on the treadmill and RapidShot, Nick regularly coaches at the Chiller’s on-ice camps and clinics.  Coach Nick played Varsity hockey at Olentangy Orange High School and is currently a sophomore at Ohio State University, studying electrical engineering. Email Bethany to book with Coach Nick >

About Coach Alex Morrow: Coach Alex Morrow grew up here in Columbus, OH. Playing at every level of youth hockey, Alex made his way from the house program up to AAA his U16 year. In college, Alex learned under an NHL skills coach and was co-founder of the Club Hockey team at Otterbein University. Training himself, he landed a semi-pro contract in the Federal Hockey League where he played two seasons. After hanging up the skates, Alex created A5 Skills. About Coach Sully Carlson: Coach Sully is a passionate and experienced hockey coach with a deep commitment to developing athletes both on and off the ice. With 6 years of coaching experience and a background of playing competitive hockey for over 15 years, Coach Carlson brings a well-rounded approach to the players, focusing on skill development, player dynamics, and mental toughness. While attending school at Bowling Green State University, Coach Sully was able to coach a high school team in the area for two years and during the summers helped coach at USA Hockey camps. About Coach Patrick Shedlock: Coach Patrick grew up in Cleveland where he played hockey since he was 4 years old.  He played AAA and went on to play for University School, where he led his team in points on an Ohio High School State Championship winning team in 2009.  Coach Pat loves working with kids and adults to hone their skills and develop better hockey sense.
